President of the Blogging World. Please Vote Once!

I have moved from being ‘smart’ to ‘unsmart’ but yet still the elections must go on. The smartness Iam talking about here is about phone not my personality.

My phone isn’t smart anymore. I now plan using a  Torch light phone from Nokia. The best thing I can get from that phone is radio. Hahaha!

Let move back to business as usual. Today’s discussion is all about the presidency and issues with presidency raises a lot of eyebrows. To me for instance, I think the easiest job in this world is being a Ghanaian president. They are the laziest people you can find in this world.

A typical Ghanaian president will occupy the seat and just play around and wait for the next four years for re-election. Basically, when prices are increased in the world market and when fuel prices are increased, expect things to increase as well in Ghana.

What I find it difficult to understand has to do with the fact that are our presidents not  having foresights? Don’t they know things aren’t going to stay the same and must have pre-emptive measures towards them? After all, isn’t that the reason why they are elected?

Let me stop boring once again and let’s move back to business once more. Sometime back, there was an election here where the Blogging president was elected. I imposed myself on you as your electoral commissioner. Today is of no exception. I am still the electoral commissioner whether you like it or not. A self-imposed electoral commissioner for that matter. I am as well the polling agents, external invigilators and whatever pertaining to the elections. Hahaha!

Please pardon my nonsense! Today is all about elections. You and I as a blogger is going to elect a president in this blogosphere.

But before that let us listen to what our out-going president has to say. Oh, in case you don’t know, Madam Ileane of Basic Blog Tips won the presidency during the last elections.

Let the whole hall be silent, the president is about to speak! Hahaha!

Thank you all for this wonderful honour you placed on me as the Blogging President. My tenure saw a lot of success with more bloggers coming into the blogosphere than ever. There was of course massive increase in the number of Bloggers as Basic Blog Tips (my blog) was there to help them out. It served as a resource channel for every blogger and as a gateway for guest posters. No one was left out as every blogger was welcomed.

I stand here not as the first president of the blogophere but as a great personality with humble beginnings and has come a long way in this Blogging arena.

I started blogging in July of 2009 using and Blogger. I spent months preparing myself to launch my first self-hosted WordPress blog. During that time, I learned the importance of building strong connections in the blogosphere through social media, guest posting and community involvement. That I have achieved and set the path for many.

Here are some of the reactions and notable mentions from across the internet

Michele Welch from NewBizBlogger

Ileane Smith from – Ileane and I connected some time ago but it wasn’t until fairly recent that we’ve really connected as true supporters of each other.  She is a role model that with hard work, persistence and being a stand for other peoples success that what you want in life is absolutely achievable.  She’s a complete joy and anyone who comes in contact with her is richer for it.  Ileane, thank you for being an amazing person and entrepreneur and for your continued support.  You have made a difference in more ways than you know!

Lisa Irby from 2CreateAWebsite

Take a lesson from bloggers like Ileane Smith of and Brankica Underwood of Blog Like a Star.  Both are very well-known in their spaces and will probably tell you they’ve built the majority of their following through social media.

They don’t just produce great content, but they generously share other people’s work and build relationships with their followers.  Follow them.  You’ll learn a lot.

Now that the president has finished delivering her message, I think it will be prudent to allow the presidential candidates to deliver their messages as well. There were lots of nominations but as a lazy electoral commissioner, please don’t blame me with respect to the number candidates here.

1. Harleena Singh

The first name on the ballot is Madam Harleena. She is the brain behind one great blogger Aha-Now! Please madam Harleena, tell us what about yourself .

Madam Harleena is my name. I stand here as one of the favourite to win this presidential race. As an ‘Iron Lady’ in this Blogosphere, I promise to do better than our predecessor. The last  on the ballot is the name Harsh Agrawal. Shoutmeloud makes up Harsh and Harsh Agrawal makes up shoutmeloud.

Please Harsh, let listen to what you have to offer.

Computer and technology have been my passion since I was a child and after few blogs and communities on technology I started with full-time blogging via Shoutmeloud.

I’m a normal guy who lives life to the fullest, loves travelling and lives a happy-go-lucky kind of life. I like to talk stuff related to marketing, solopreneurship and art of living.

I don’t promise to make you rich overnight, but I could promise that you will be earning handsome income, if you have what it takes to become a blogger. If you have writing skills, a passion for learning, a dream of bringing a change, and most important if you want to be your own boss, vote for me as president in this blogosphere.

  1. Hello Emmanuel, it’s a nice honor to be here both as a commenter and a recipient of the ballot paper.

I didn’t know the president of Ghana share similar traits with the heads of all successive government in Nigeria. We hear different stories here of how the man in your “white-house” looks so much like the same man in the original “white-house” in Washington. I guess the stories were built on falsehood, but I still have a huge belief that Africa will get better and it’s going to start from you and I.

Now the voting.. 🙂 I have looked at the list critically and no doubt they are one of the finest bloggers keeping the ecosystem of blogs working perfectly. I vote Harleena Singh as the new President of the Blogosphere. She is something else, pure class mixed with emphatic knowledge. I am normally scared of long posts but she has a way of making me read through the lines and most times I read twice. I always admire the quality time she spends in contributing to articles, often times, you want to believe it’s another article. Long, informative and sincere contributions. The most fascinating I like about Madam, is that she appreciates everyone who likes what ever articles she shares on Facebook.. Her characteristics is simply charming and outstanding.

Harsh Agrawal and Pat Flynn are two blogging great and I have really learned alot from them. We haven’t connected but their excellent articles leave a lasting memory is my mind.

    That’s it self-imposed electoral commissioner.. 🙂

    1. Honourable Presidential candidate, thanks a lot for casting your vote. Please let it be note that it has being counted. Hahaha!

    2. Thanks Nosa, I appreciate you saying that – you made my day, though we all know there are many others more deserving 🙂

      1. Hello Harleena!

Truth be told, you’re a blogger who blogs in a manner and fashion very hard to find…treating almost all faucets of life on aha-now is a real plus…and you shouldn’t be surprised – I casted my vote for you!

  2. Hey Emmy,

Another fantastic headline and amazing post, one that I so much love as per the funny and seriousness of it and I love the fact that you have mentioned some of the blogging greats with a kind of mix that looks so much different from the ones have read from my many travels around the blogosphere.

Nice one matey! Keep it up okay. 🙂

  3. It’s an honor being here, going through the write up’s of the above i had in mind to vote in for Master Nosa Ero Nosa because i have known him quite well that he is a good blogging specialist, but unfortunately i saw his comment that gave me a mind-down.

Seems like there is a better blogger in the house that my boss envy. Hmmm, well i go with him, Harleena Singh is the person i wish to vote…..Make more money in blogging system (best tips)

  4. One man one vote i hope it will free and fair,I don’t have to drop a long ass comment like Nosa did.

    I vote thatnaijaguy….His Excellency Nosa.

I hope you won’t be like your country President i heard he enacted anti gay law, who knows if some people will do the same in blog sphere. Anti blogging law.

  8. Emm,

I love them all! I cannot vote for one….well….I guess I will vote for Ileane, as I have known her the longest from this fine group of candidates.

You cannot go wrong with each. Harsh is a champ, as is everybody on the list.

Can’t wait to see the poll results!

  9. Every single blogger mentioned here is worthy of being the president. But Ileane Smith is a good candidate because she helps other and gives person attention if required. My vote goes to her.

  10. Hi Emmanuel,

This is such a lovely surprise!! And to be mentioned among such excellent bloggers is a privilege indeed. 🙂

Thanks so much for putting up my name here and that write-up you did about me – but I am nowhere a match with these pro-bloggers, being a very simple and ordinary blogger, as you know me Emmanuel. I think I would certainly vote for Ileane and Harsh for all that they share and their helpful natures, and Nosa for the wonderful person he is….so no one vote because they are all awesome bloggers. I think I should vote a secret vote for you too for always putting me up somewhere or the other in your posts….you are a sweetheart dear friend 🙂

Thanks once again, though I am no President in any way – I appreciate the mention a great deal, and thank every one who votes for me too. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

    1. Hello Presidential candidate,

  12. Hi Emmanuel,

    1. Adesanmi, please be very careful with way you talk with the electoral commissioner. Hahaha!

Your vote has being recorded and do have a nice day.

  13. Hello Commisioner Emmanuel,

First, let me warn you – since you are a self imposed Commisioner, I want you to understand that no rigging, Ok?

Second, where are all my candidates? Have you started deleting candidates and favoring those who have ‘seen’ you already? Hahaha – Jokes aside. Serious business now.

It’s really hard to cast a genuine vote, Emmanuel. All the bloggers on that list are giants in their own respects…however, if I am to vote…I’ll cast my vote for – let me consult with the ‘elders’ first.

ok, the elders have told me to vote….Harleena Singh!

Why? She is the only blogger on the list that covers all aspects of life. You cannot leave empty handed after a visit to aha-now. Just about everything is treated in a concise and detailed manner there!

Make sure you return the correct votes, oo, Mr. Commisioner!

    1. Hahahaha! Hi Terungwa, you ought to be very careful with the way you with the commissioner and that is me!

You and Adesanmi have being warned! Hahaha!

One of these days, Notopoverty is going to have a surprise on

Do have a nice day bro.

    2. Hey Akaahan, I kept seeing you everywhere and also here. Boss I respect your consistency, so much!

By the way, I love what you have to say about Harleena, she’s indeed an epitome of beauty, knowledge, wisdom and most importantly understanding.

A visit to her blog will definitely cause a drastic and really positive change in the life of the individual who took those bold steps.

Let me go back to reading and try to comment finally my take and who I’d love to vote for. 😀

  14. I am a regular visitor of Harleena Singh’s blog. Her writing style is very rich and good. My vote will goes for her.

  15. While I know and admire most of these folks on your list, I vote for Harleena as the president.

I am still wondering about this…so, there is an actual thing called blogging elections or is this just one of your awesome ideas? 😀

I think a lot more folks also deserve to be on the list, then again, it’s very subjective, right? 😀

Some people like some bloggers, some don’t. We can’t please everyone.

Anyways, thank you for sharing this with us, Emmanuel 🙂

    1. Hi Jacob, as the electoral commissioner, I assure you that your is secured.

Hahaha! this was one of my own innovative ideas!

  19. Great topic!
