There is no doubt Ghana is one of the most peaceful countries in the world. Hence making the country one of the most enviable countries in Africa. We have one of the best leaders as well steering the country in the right direction as we want even though some have some reservations but with the stable cedi and steady economy, there is of course more hope for the future.
Our attention today is to have a look at the best performing minister in the administration of John Mahama’s. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah is someone seen as one of the best performing minister under this current administration. He is the minister of Lands and Natural Resources’ and also the acting minister of Environment.
There is no doubt he is bent on ending the illegal mining which is popularly known as Galamsey in the country. With the formation of Bluewater Guard and that of NAIMOS, the minister is of course doing his best for the motherland. We pray things get back to normal with regards to our water bodies especially the Ankobra River.
The Misplaced Priorities in His Constituency
Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has been the longest serving member of parliament in the Ellembelle Constituency having taken over from Freddie Blay whom the constituents dubbed as ‘Ellembelle Mugabe’ for serving 12 years.
Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah will be serving 20 years by the end of this current parliament which will end in 2028. But the impact the current Member of parliament has had on the constituency is just minimal after more than 15 years in office.
Entertainment
One can’t tell whether he was an entertainment prefect back in the day when he was secondary school because when it comes to the constituency that has seen more musicians performing, you can’t leave out the Ellembelle Constituency. That’s a positive aspect though but the question is; at what expense?
He has tried his best to nationalize the celebration of Kwame Nkrumah’s birthday making Sept. 21 as one of the important dates on our calenders but the issue is; is that what the constituents want?
Sarkodie performed the other time and a quick search on Google says the Landlord takes more than 100,000 cedis per show. Let assume he even took half of that. And such an amount is enough to equip Eikwe Hospital with some modern facilities.
Education
When it comes to education, the lest said about it, the better. Esiama for insatnce has more than 4 government primary and Junior High Schools in the town and all of them are in deplorable states. The St. Philip’s Anglican school for instance is just a death trap.
Three months to the last elections, he started building a new school for them. With the hope of even completing it before the elections. One year down the line, with his party in power and him as a minister, the building has been left to rot. The new Anglican school which has been promised is just there with no contractor on site.
None of the schools here have an ICT Lab lest to talk of a library and so one always wonder what these kids write during ICT exams. But it appears our honourable is comfortable spending money on the likes of Kweku Smoke and Meiway to come and entertain us.
Roads
Only God knows the number of young guys who have died on our roads through various accidents. The Esiama to Nkroful road for instance lacks common road markings making driving on that road really dangerous especially at night.
As for the streets in our towns, they are worse. Keke riders and pedestrians always compete for space as the potholes on those streets are bigger than craters. The first time streets in Esiama tasted bitumen was in 2009 since then the rest is history.
Health
When it comes to health in the constituency, please kindly pray you visit the place with malaria other than that you’re doomed. All the clinics lack basic equipment and the main hospital popular known as Eikwe Hospital where most people are referred is no different.
There isn’t a comon MRI scan machine in that hopsital. Something I believe the money spent to move Meiway from Ivory Coast to Ghana to come and jump on stage can make diference in acquiring an MRI Scan.
There is also a high rate of HIV patients in the constituency simply because there is a normalization of s.ex workers in the constituency with the Anglican Primary School for instance having a whorehouse less than 20 metres away from the school. Ony God knows what the DCE is doing about it.
Unemployment
Talk of unemployment in the country and you simply can’t take out the Ellembelle constituency off the list. There are more than 90% unemployed youth in the constituency with hope of employment far from reach as there isn’t any programme I know of to curb that.
Sanitation
As the acting Minister of Environment, you will think the Ellembelle Constituency will be one of the cleanliest constituency in the country but that is not the case. Esiama for instance has one of the dirtiest gutters in the country and one of the dirtiest beaches in the world.
Conclusion:
I pray our honourable focuses on some of our pressing needs and addresses them as soon as possible especially when it comes to the completion of the Anglican school. He still has our support as it shows in the number of votes he gets during elections.

I appreciate you voicing out and pointing out some issues in the district yet when it comes to sanitation, it is not solely based on an individual to curb it.
Let’s concientise the people living at such places to do the needful. You can’t make your surroundings dirty to expect someone to clean up the mess.
We all must come onboard for that.
With education and the others mentioned, where are the mangers of these various institutions?
Yes, the government must do his part, we as the citizens must also do our part.
What do we see at our public institutions?
